Erik Helmer Pedersen dr.phil. Born 1932. From 1968 to 2001 he was
Associate professor of History at the Department of History, University
of Copenhagen. Her was mainly occupied with economic history, with
special reference to Danish agricultural history, and in 1979 he chose
for his Dr. Phil. thesis the history of the Danish Agricultural Board
1919-1933 (Landsbrugsrådet som
erhvervspolitisk toporgan 1919-33). Together with other books
and articles on agricultural History, he has also written the history
of Danish agriculture in the 20th century: Det danske landbrugs historie 1914-1988
(1988). In the 1980s he also worked on Danish emigration history,
notably in Drømmen om Amerika
(The Dream of America) 1985 and Pionererne
(The Danish Pioneers) 1986. Since his retirement in he has primarily
been occupied with Danish local history.
